Cone Processing
We offer specialized processing for custom orchard or wild-collected cone. Our services include kiln drying, tumbling, dewinging, and thorough screening for debris and low-quality seed. With proprietary equipment and refined techniques, we ensure exceptional seed quality. Our quality control includes tests for moisture content, purity, x-ray imaging, and seed assessment.
For clarification or inquiries about hardwood species and recalcitrant seeds, please contact us directly.

Seed Storage
We offer seed storage as a service. Your seed is stored at our facility in Roy, WA in our onsite freezer. Our freezer is equipped with monitoring and backup systems in the event of a power failure - your seed is safe with us. Seed storage is free with an annual seedling growing contract of 20,000 seedlings or more.

Testing & Stratification
We offer testing services in our state-of-the-art laboratory at our Roy, WA facility. We invite you to come visit so that we can show you the property.
For stratification services, note that each seedlot is handled for 3-5 hours by one of our expert staff in order to sanitize, imbibe, stratify, then prepare the seed for shipment or growing on site. Longer stratification times require additional handling. At this time, stratification fees are based on length of the stratification period and vary by species

Seed transfer and international shipping
- Domestic seed transfers: $75 per seed lot plus shipping
- Internal transfers (between customers, within seed storage facility): $10 administrative fee per seed lot
- Canada: $110 per seed lot plus shipping, phytosanitary certificate, and customs documentation
- We ship to Europe and other international locations. Once seed is purchased, Silvaseed is responsible for the outbound certification via APHIS. The receiving international customer is responsible for:
- Coordinating and communicating shipment point of entry
- Certification specifics for purchased seed (SIA, Stand select, Orchard)
- Communicating with the customs broker on seed shipment timeline after tracking has been relayed from Silvaseed
- Costs of the export and associated fees
Seed Collection Services
- If you are a cone collector who would like to contract with us for collection, we would be interested in discussing needs and potential engagement.
- If you have a cone collection opportunity that you would like us to support, we can work with you to arrange for surveying, collection, processing and banking.

Seed cleaning/upgrading
- If you have seed with low purity or a high amount of hollow seeds we offer cleaning/upgrading services to reprocess seed. Re-cleaning can aid in increasing the purity and germination of seed lots.
